Occupational health screenings are an important tool to help determine if a job candidate can meet the demands of a role, and to keep employees and clients safe. Occupational health screenings may include a physical exam, drug testing, and background screening to evaluate a candidate's fitness and well-being to ensure a safe workplace.
Health Care Provider Screening (Example):
- Current Background Check: Completed within the last 12 months, covering the past 7 years, to include a Nationwide search and all resident Counties and States. Additionally, database searches of the General Service Administration (GSA); Office of Inspector General Exclusion List (OIG); Fraud and Abuse Control Information System (FACIS); Patriot Act; Child Abuse Registry.
- Current Drug Screen: Drug screen must be completed within the last 12 months, it can be either be a 5 panel or 10 panel drug screen, but it must include the following substances: Marijuana (THC), Cocaine (COC), Opiates (MOP), Amphetamines (AMP), Benzodiazepine (BZO).
- Immunization Record (MMR): Proof of two Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccinations or positive titer test results.
- Immunization Record (VARICELLA): Proof of two Varicella (chicken pox) vaccinations or a positive titer test.
- Immunization Record (HEP-B): Valid three series immunization record showing proof of Hepatitis B vaccinations or a positive titer test result, or a signed and dated statement from employer.
- Immunization Record (TB): Current TB Test (within the 90 days). A QuantiFERON gold blood test is recommended, a T-Spot blood test is also accepted. A two-step skin test is accepted as well where the first step is placement and the second step is the reading. The two-step process is required twice to document negative status. The second round of testing cannot occur any sooner than seven days after the first test is read. Each TB skin test must be read 48-72 hours after being placed. The TB test should be performed no more than 90 days prior to registration.
- Flu Shot: Annually, and proof of Flu vaccination is required for initial onboarding if during flu season.
